Campus Tours
Student-led campus tours last approximately 90 minutes and introduce students and visitors to key campus buildings. Tours are offered most weekdays throughout the year, except campus breaks and holidays.Fall semester tours take place late August to early December, including select Saturdays. Spring semester tours are offered from late January through early May. Summer tours span early June through mid-August.

Mini Open House
These programs are held during common high school break weeks during the spring semester. They include a student-led campus tour along with a panel Q&A featuring staff members from key campus offices such as Advisement and Transition, Campus Activities, Career Services, Dining Services, Financial Aid, Residence Life and Housing, Disability Resources and University Police.
Mini Open House events take place during February and April school break weeks.

Spring Open House
Spring Open House takes place Saturday, April 11, and offers numerous opportunities for future Red Dragons and families to interact with our community. Get a head start on college life and exploring all that Cortland has to offer you. This event is geared towards accepted students, but all prospective students and families are welcome to attend.Learn more at cortland.edu/oh
Virtual Visits
One-on-one Virtual Meeting
We offer the opportunity to meet virtually with an admissions counselor, as well as the opportunity to attend a virtual presentation with an admissions counselor. This option is available to both first year and transfer students. These opportunities are offered Monday - Friday; 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
Online programs are hosted on Microsoft Teams. They are ideal for prospective students at any stage of the application process who are hoping to learn more about Cortland.

Long Island Accepted student reception - March 18, 2026
Accepted first-year and transfer applicants are invited join us on Wednesday, March 18th at the Seasons 52 in Garden City. Our staff will have answers to your questions about all things Cortland: academic opportunities, student life and athletics, dining and housing options and current students will be on hand to share their experiences.
Eligible students will be sent an email invitation and may register on a first-come, first-served basis. Food and beverage is provided.
Westchester Accepted student reception - March 19, 2026
Accepted first-year and transfer applicants are invited to join us on Thursday, March 19th at the Louie & Johnnie's Ristorante Primavera in Yonkers. Our staff will have answers to your questions about all things Cortland: academic opportunities, student life and athletics, dining and housing options and current students will be on hand to share their experiences.
Eligible students will be sent an email invitation and may register on a first-come, first-served basis. Food and beverage is provided.

Group Visits
The Admissions Office welcomes groups of 10 or more students to campus through a group visit process. Group visits take place weekdays between 9 a.m and 3 p.m. and preference is given to high school and transfer students who are considering applying to Cortland.All groups must complete the Group Visit Request form.
Requests are reviewed in the order they are received and they are scheduled based on available staffing. We are unable to accommodate group visit requests May 12, 2025 through Sept. 15, 2025.
